Weather

Thin high cloud kept the temperature down a little compared to the previous day. Apart from short clear periods, for most of the day, a watery sunlight cast weak shadows.

Conditions

Groomed runs in pretty good condition. Elsewhere, a crusty surface took some time to soften in the weak sun.

Overall

Another good day featured a "Shaped Ski" clinic for Mike and Chris and Sue's first real blue run!

What a difference compared to the previous day. Queues were virtually non existent everywhere.

The skis all laid out ready for use.

First Time run, deserted in the early morning sunlight.

Sue on First Time

We started with a couple of runs at the Resort Center, then while Sue took the gondola to the Summit, Chris and I took a few fast runs from Eagle and King Consolidated.

Sue seemed a little tired so we did not attempt the whole of Claim Jumper. Instead, we took the Mid Mountain run (used to be Webster until the owners of the Restaurant sponsored the change of name) down to Pioneer chair. [Sue took several more runs down the same slope later].

After a break, Chris and I were signed up for a Shaped Ski Clinic. We warmed up with a run down Single Jack. The clinic itself focussed on how to make the most of Super Sidecut skis and make good carved turns.

Lunch was somewhat later than normal because of the lesson. After lunch we all skied together down to the Resort Center. At the Gondola Angle Station, Sue said she wanted the quickest way down because her legs were tired, so we went straight down Treasure Hollow, a genuine blue run.
